Tiffany is a junior from Orlando, Florida, majoring in International Affairs. Tiffany will be serving as the Finance Chair for GPE during the 2019-2020 academic school year. She is a proud Bolivian-American whose passions include public administration and policy, human rights and economic development. Alongside this, she hopes to get more involved in domestic & foreign policy. After graduating, Tiffany hopes to go onto law school and receive her JD from either Georgetown, Columbia, or Yale.
Giovan is a senior from Miami, Florida double majoring in Business Management (for now) and International Affairs with a concentration in Political Science. Gio started his journey with GPE as the Events Chair throughout the 2017-2018 academic school year and has now transitioned into Co-Director alongside Tiffany and Nick. He is a proud Nicaraguan and Miamian (?) with a strong interest in international politics and hopes to use GPE as a way to educate students to increase their awareness and knowledge of the world around them. After graduation he is contemplating either pursuing an MBA post-graduation or entering the work force immediately.
Nick is a junior from Tampa, Florida double majoring in International Affairs and Economics. He considers himself very active on campus as he has been part of the Presidential Scholars, Global Scholars, UROP, and more. In the summer of 2018 he completed a two month internship program with Manna Project International, an INGO in Ecuador. Throughout his time here, he gained knowledge and perspective of grassroots social development that will help push GPE forward. After graduation he hopes to eventually work in the Peace Corps and in the U.S. Foreign Service.
Maia is a senior from Clearwater, Florida, double majoring in Marketing and International Affairs with a concentration in Economics. She joined the GPE family in her freshman year, became the Member Affairs chair for GPE in the 2017-2018 academic year, then transitioned into the Marketing/Communications chair where she does a little bit of everything. Maia is a proud Polish American whose roots have led her to be passionate about cultures other than her own. This led her to do a student exchange in South Korea, where she studied international marketing. After she graduates, she hopes to become involved in the entertainment industry or, as a backup plan, move back to Asia to teach English.
Jesmel is a junior from Kissimmee, Florida majoring in Sociology and Psychology with a certificate in Global Studies. She started her time with GPE in Fall 2018 as a general body member then moved on to her executive position in Spring 2019. In the summer of 2019, she volunteered abroad with GPE partner, Iracambi, in Brazil. She absolutely loved her time working on deforestation in the Atlantic Rainforest and has enjoyed gaining international experience working with a non-profit. After she graduates, she hopes to pursue a masters in Clinical Psychology. Fun fact about her is that she loves tea and spending her time outside.
Gabriela Dos Reis
Gabriela, or Gaby,
Mackenzie is a sophomore from Lincoln, Rhode Island majoring in Biology. She joined the GPE family in Fall 2019 as our new finance chair for the 2019-2020 academic year. She joined GPE because of her love for our mission statement of promoting sustainable work and fighting against volun-tourism. She is a first-generation immigrant from Egypt with the rest of her family being from Palestine. Mackenzie hopes to go to med-school after graduation and do research on stem cells with her final goal being to become a pediatrician. Fun facts about her is that her favorite show is Always Sunny in Philadelphia and that she doesn't like tomatoes.
Member Affairs Chair
Sarah is a sophomore from New Orleans, Louisiana majoring in Geography with a minor in Environmental Science. Started with GPE in Spring 2019 then immediately dove into her first partnership with GPE's partner, Iracambi, in Brazil. She loved her time there and was happy to develop her experiences in sustainable development, as well as volunteer abroad for the first time. Sarah is currently involved with the environmental service program on campus and is interested in doing service for the National Parks Service or the Peace Corps. Fun fact about her is that she loves running and is bilingual in Spanish because of her Puerto Rican heritage.
